Joel Wiersema called me up and asked if I was interested in making a music video. I said "Hells yes."
We shot a video for the song "Let's Just Be Friends" and chose Lauren Maul as the girl in the video. One of the shots entailed a car wash where Lauren was spraying me with water. A bunch of Latino guys started watching and a small crowd began gathering. It then seemed more like a weird porn shoot. Then another shot entailed us having a pillow fight with feathers flying everywhere. That seemed even more like a porno shoot, but sadly there were no latinos guys.

The video will be done at the end of October and I'll have it up under the media page of my site. Sweet.

Here's the dates I'll be playing in NYC

The Underground Comedy Lounge: Friday, Oct 17
Gotham Comedy Club: Monday, Oct 20
Broadway Comedy Club: Wednesday, Oct 22

I'm excited to see NY. I haven't been there since I was a kid. I'm bringing my bike as well. So if you're in NY you may see me fallen and bleeding in the street with a sweet bike nearby.

So the Windy City Ukulele Festival went great. Everyone was really nice and people really enjoyed my music. I kept getting comments afterword like "Y'know, I was listening to your music and it's very interesting. (Pause.) You're music combines jokes into songs." And I would say, "Yes... Yes it does.."I also wrote a song specifically tailored for ukulele players. I’ll record it by Sept 1 and put it on my media page. If you don’t play ukulele you’ll think the song is weird.

As far as future shows go, I’m starting the IWF (Improv Wrestling Federation) show this Saturday, the comedy wrestling show where I play the Raging Rabbi. (A Rabbi that starts out as an ordinary Rabbi, but when he thinks you’ve said something Anti-Semitic goes crazy and becomes the Raging Rabbi.) I’m pretty stoked. If you want to come see it you can click on the calendar page to find out more information.

Also I’m currently in rehearsals for The Downward Smile, a rock comedy musical where I’ll be playing Gabriel Lovejoy, a Christian Rocker.

I also created a new mailing list so if you’re interested to get updates every month a half on shows coming up and what I’m up to sign up.

Thanks for being awesome guys,

Sweet mother of pearl.

Summer Smash is coming to Second City's Donny's Skybox and I'm playing The Raging Rabbi: A mild mannered Rabbi that always thinks the people around him are saying Anti-Semitic things. And when he thinks that, he bceomes enraged. Grrrr.

Also I'm in another show that will be at the Skybox Theater starting in September called "The Downward Smile". A show about the life of a rocker, Count Chocula Ford. I'll be playing a Christian Rocker.

I'm rocking the religions this year.

I'm performing some duet songs with Lauren Maul at the Elbo Room on Tuesday, June 24th around 10pm and will be performing my own 30 minute set at 8:30 that night.

Yay for updates,

- matt

You can now buy music on my media page! My video links now work, and I have a bunch of shows in the works! Along with the shows I already have going on.

The ukulele festival was a lot of fun. It was more fun hanging with the musicians than performing because I found out that Nashville Indiana does not understand my music. Nor do they take kindly to humor. Yowzah... One woman came up to me drunk after my performance and said in an angry slurd voice (She's referring to my song Neighbor),

"You know that's not right to say right?"
I said. "yes..?"
"You know that's sick, right? Cause it's sick."
"Of course it's sick. It's an awful song. Why would anyone actually sing a song like that seriously in public?" (I successfully difused her at that point.)"Good... Good... I just wanted you to know..."

And she then talked about Chicago to me. I don't think I mix very well with small towns.

If anyone wants to see some pictures you can click here.

If you know what my site used to look like. You'll know that it's not what it looks like now. I've revamped everything! Whoo! Now things are prettier and more user friendly. And there's a ton of links to the right of the navigator that allow you to choose sites I'm on.
I hope you like it and if anyone has any ideas to improve the site, or things they'd like to have in the site let me know! You can e-mail me at itsmattgriffo@gmail.com
